Plastic Surgery Interest Group (PSIG)

Mission: The mission of the Plastic Surgery Interest Group (PSIG) is to promote

student awareness and education in this diverse surgical specialty. We aim to impart fundamental

knowledge about plastic surgery, including but not limited to: craniofacial, hand, microsurgery,

burns, and aesthetic surgery. To accomplish this, PSIG provides students with opportunities to

learn from and interact with various professionals in this specialty. Those activities include

seminars throughout the year, suturing clinics, shadowing opportunities, and a regular journal

club in which students review relevant literature with plastic surgeons as well as in depth

discussions regarding patient care and research.
