American Physician Scientists Association (APSA)
The goal of the American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) is to expose medical students to various types of research in clinical practice. Ultimately, we aim to increase medical student interest towards the incorporation of research in their future medical practices. All types of research will be explored in APSA, including, but not limited to: basic science research, translational research, clinical trials research, device development, pharmaceutical therapy research, and more.
APSA will organize speakers who practice medicine and pursue their research interests (including clinical trials, bench research, translational research, etc.). In addition, APSA will begin hosting a regular journal club for medical students, wherein medical students are encouraged to present clinically relevant research articles in an informal manner for discussion.
