Cardiovascular Interest Group (CVIG)

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Cardiovascular Interest Group at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix is to expose students to the field of cardiovascular medicine. To this end, the Cardiovascular Interest Group will organize and host a variety of events including lunch presentations by physicians representing a wide variety of cardiovascular-related medical and surgical specialties including non-invasive cardiology, invasive cardiology, interventional cardiology, vascular/endovascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional radiology, endocrinology, and radiology. The Cardiovascular Interest Group will also organize and run hands-on workshop experiences and provide students with shadowing experiences in various cardiovascular medicine-related specialties to allow them to integrate basic science knowledge with clinical information and other diagnostic data to ultimately provide better care to the patient.

CVIG is open to all students interested in the fields of cardiovascular medicine and surgery and does not exclude or deny participation of any individual based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion, and anything else you can think of.
