What is One Health?
One Health is an interdisciplinary public health initiative that explores the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health. It encompasses topics such as zoonotic diseases, climate change, and the human-animal bond. The One Health approach depends on the contributions of professionals from a variety of disciplines including physicians, veterinarians, epidemiologists, ecologists, and many others.
As future leaders in health, it is imperative that we consider our patients in the context of their communities and ecosystems to create a healthier world.

The mission of the One Health Interest Group is to promote awareness of the interconnection of human, animal, and environmental health. Our goal is to expose future physicians to One Health concepts and provide opportunities to expand and enrich their professional networks. We hope to enhance the academic curriculum of UACOM-Phoenix by informing students about the interdisciplinary work of various One Health professionals, such as environmental scientists, veterinarians, epidemiologists, physicians, and many more.
