Welcome Class of 2030!
The Psychiatry Interest Group aims to bridge the gap between medical education and psychiatric practice by cultivating a community of future physicians dedicated to mastering the complexities of mental health and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. We strive to dismantle the systemic stigma surrounding psychiatric conditions through early exposure to clinical subspecialties, dedicated research opportunities, and robust mentorship from faculty and residents. By prioritizing mental health equity and the social determinants of health, we empower students to become empathetic leaders and skilled clinicians. Furthermore, we emphasize physician wellness and resilience, ensuring that our members are equipped to improve health outcomes for diverse populations while maintaining their own professional well-being.
The Psychiatry Interest Group is a student-led organization dedicated to bridging the gap between medical education and clinical practice. Our club provides a collaborative space for future physicians to explore the complexities of mental health through faculty mentorship and early exposure to psychiatric subspecialties. We collaborate with other groups such as the harm reduction and pediatrics in order to widen the scope of experiences.
