Med Mentors

Mission

To empower and guide pre-med students on their journey to medical school by providing mentorship, workshops, and resources to enhance their applications and readiness for medical school. We aim to bridge the gap between pre-med and medical school by creating a supportive community where medical students can mentor predominantly first-generation and underrepresented pre-med students to foster the next generation of compassionate and skilled healthcare professionals.

What We Do

Med Mentors works directly with UACOM-P’s current youth and undergraduate pipeline programs to support underrepresented students interested in a career in medicine. Our club aims to provide a pre-med mentorship program in which current medical students will work directly with participants of UACOM-P’s Pre-Medical Academy, Pre-Medical Summer School, and other outreach programs overseen by Chip Young. Key components of our club include establishing a longitudinal mentor-mentee relationship, hosting medical school application building workshops and events, as well as providing valuable feedback and insight in the form of student panels and seminars. Our goal is to be able to support and mentor the next generation of aspiring physicians no matter where they are in their journey.
