Welcome Class of 2030!
The Integrative and Preventive Medicine Interest Group (IPMIG) aims to enhance and expand medical students’ understanding of evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine. Fundamental knowledge in complementary and alternative medicine is essential for physicians to prevent and treat diseases. Understanding the diverse practices of our patients will allow us to provide holistic care and build patient-physician trust. Our goals are to provide students with the opportunity to engage in complementary and alternative practices, learn more about integrative medicine, and ultimately use it in their future careers. The Integrative and Preventive Medicine Interest Group (IPMIG) aims to enhance and expand medical students’ understanding of evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine. We will provide students with the opportunity to engage in complementary and alternative practices, learn more about integrative medicine with guest speakers, and ultimately use it in their future careers.
The Integrative and Preventive Medicine Interest Group (IPMIG) aims to introduce medical students to the principles of integrative, preventive, and lifestyle medicine while emphasizing physician wellness and community health. Through educational sessions, hands-on experiences, and interdisciplinary collaborations, IPMIG hopes to demonstrate how nutrition, mind-body medicine, movement, and evidence-based integrative practices can be incorporated across medical specialties. The group also seeks to connect students with community preventive resources and create accessible wellness opportunities that support both patient care and student well-being, while fostering dialogue with clinicians who practice integrative medicine in diverse clinical settings.
