Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society

Mission Statement: 

The mission of the Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society chapter at UACOMP is to promote gender diversity within orthopedic surgery, as well as further the personal and professional development of women throughout their careers in orthopedics. We hope to provide a variety of resources to increase exposure to orthopedic surgery, aid in finding mentors in the field, improve networking skills, and share opportunities to get more involved. 

The goal of the UACOMP RJOS chapter is to further the personal and professional development of women interested in orthopedic surgery as well as increase access to exposure by connecting students with female orthopedic surgeons. We hope to work towards this goal by providing experiences such as lunch talks by female orthopedic surgeons, connecting students with mentors for shadowing and research, attending grand rounds, and working with orthopedic surgeon residents to host hands-on workshops.
