The mission of the LGBTQ+ in Medicine Interest Group is to foster an inclusive, supportive community for LGBTQ+ medical trainees and allies, promote health equity for LGBTQ+ patients, and advocate for improved understanding of queer health through education, mentorship, and service.

Statement of Purpose:
The LGBTQ+ in Medicine Interest Group is a student-led organization committed to supporting LGBTQ+ medical students and improving care for queer patients. We aim to foster community and connection through LGBTQ+ student–centered events, host educational programming focused on gender-affirming and inclusive care, strengthen medical students’ understanding of the unique health needs and experiences of LGBTQ+ patients, and partner with the local queer youth community center, One·n·Ten, to engage with and learn from the community we serve.
