Mission: The mission of the Plastic Surgery Interest Group is to promote student awareness and education in this diverse surgical specialty. We aim to impart fundamental knowledge about plastic surgery, including but not limited to: craniofacial, hand, microsurgery, burns, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery. To accomplish this, PSIG provides students with opportunities to learn and interact with various professionals in this specialty. These activities include seminars throughout the year, suturing clinics, shadowing opportunities, and a regular journal club in which students review relevant literature with plastic surgeons to foster in-depth discussions regarding patient care and research. PSIG members will be provided multiple opportunities and encouraged to seek out longitudinal mentorship with attending physicians to focus on shadowing, networking, and conducting research.
